MCAE serves as a vehicle to disseminate information about programs, resources, activities and happenings, volunteer, work and internship opportunities taking place on and off campus.

This web site publicizes activities sponsored by the Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence as well as student-sponsored events and other student/departmentally collaborated campus events. We will addresses issues that affect the University of Minnesota community and its members. Some of the subjects most often illuminated are those affecting diversity, racial issues, campus life, internship opportunities, campus events, and campus resources such as diversity training workshops, scholarship information, mentoring programs, academic offerings and study abroad.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Boramy

I am a Pre-pharmacy student at the University of Minnesota—Twin cities campus. I am majoring in Chemistry with minors in Biology and Mathematics. I expect to graduate from the Institute of Technology in the Spring of 2009. I currently work as a technical aid at 3M in the Corporate Research Process Laboratory dealing with nanoscale materials. I have also done directed research in the University of Minnesota’s medicinal chemistry laboratory performing organic syntheses. In my spare time, I like to solve math problems, draw cartoon characters, and play tennis. I was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and immigrated to the United State of America when I was thirteen years old.
